How to play

PlayTarot is a reflective tarot experience. It does not predict the future. It helps you choose a spread, choose a deck, and look at a question, a feeling, or a block through symbolic cards and narrative prompts. If your connection drops, your reading remains saved and you can continue later without spending another credit.

Step 1

Choose your spread

Start by choosing the type of reading you want. Today PlayTarot offers The Inner Compass Spread, a three-card reflective spread for blind spot, mirror, and next step.

Step 2

Choose your deck

Select the tarot deck you want to use. You can preview a rotating sample of the deck cards before starting, so you know the visual world of the reading.

Step 3

Set an intention

You can write a short intention before starting. This is optional, but it helps frame the reflection around what is present for you now.

Step 4

Use one credit

Each reading uses 1 credit when it begins. After that, the reading belongs to your account. If your phone closes, your browser refreshes, or your connection fails, you can return to the same reading without spending another credit.

Step 5

Shuffle and cut the deck

Before revealing the first card, use the shuffle and cut buttons. This is part of the reading experience; your cards are already safely selected and saved.

Step 6

Reveal your cards one at a time

Open each card when you are ready. Revealed cards remain open if you go back to the dashboard and return later.

Step 7

Generate the final synthesis

After all cards are revealed, PlayTarot prepares a final synthesis based on the spread positions, the selected deck, and the cards you received.

Step 8

Return later

Your recent readings appear in the dashboard history. If a reading is still open, PlayTarot also shows a reminder with a button to continue. You can view the cards again without using another credit and download the PDF after the final synthesis is ready.
